Expedition to the Barrier Peaks is designed for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1^st  Edition.  It can be adapted for 2^nd Edition or even for Dungeons and Dragons.  This module will challenge characters of  levels 8-12.  This 32 page adventure was authored by Gary Gygax one of the creators of the Dungeons and Dragons game.  There is also a 36 page illustration book with over 60 illustrations included with the module.  It may be one of the strangest modules ever written.   Expedition to the Barrier Peaks combines your more typical sword and sorcery fantasy adventure with a heavy dose of science fiction.  It was always one of my favorite adventures! 

The Grand Duchy of Geoff has recently been plagued by a rash of unusually weird and terrible monsters of unknown sort.   Within the last few months a walled town and four small fortresses were destroyed by mysterious attacks.  The remaining barons and lords have petitioned the Grand Duke to gather a powerful group of adventurers to determine the cause of these attacks and to put a stop to them.

CONDITION

This copy is in Good to Very Good condition.  The outer cover is in Good condition showing heavy corner rounding, edge wear, and creases at the fold.  It has some scratches, moderate scuffing and there are some stray pencil marks on the margin of the interior maps.  The inner cover is also in Good condition with moderate corner rounding and creases at the fold.  The adventure book is in Very Good condition with the original owner's initials embossed on a little strip of plastic on the cover, moderate corner rounding and light edge wear.  It is very clean and nice.  The illustration book is in Good condition with a couple of loose pages and some smudges, corner rounding and edge wear.  This copy is somewhere near the sixth print with the Face logo on the cover and Wizard logo on the illustration booklet.

This copy is in Good condition.  The outer cover is in Good condition showing  heavy creases at the fold, edge wear, scuffing and some residue resembling mud on the front and back.  The maps on the inside are very nice and there are some initials in the margin.  The inner cover also has some initials, heavy corner rounding and creases at the fold.  The adventure book has the initials on the front, some notes in pencil on the characters.  The corners and edges are worn, but the pages are clan and white.  The illustration book has light corner rounding and wear, initials on the front, and some of the cover residue on the back.  This copy is a First Print with the title all in caps and the black maps

This copy is in Good to Excellent condition.  The outer cover is in Good condition showing  an overstock notch which is present on all parts of the book, two crushed corners, heavy wear at the corners and edges, light scuffing, scratches, a small bit of residue on the back and a spot on one of the maps on the inside (see scan above).  The inner cover has corner and edge wear and two crushed corners.  The adventure book has corner and edge wear, a stray pen mark on the front and a very light discoloration on the back.  The illustration book shows moderate corner and edge wear, and one corner is creased throughout.  Overall this copy is very clean and nice.  This copy is somewhere near the sixth print with the Face logo on the cover and Wizard logo on the illustration booklet.

This copy is in Good  condition.  The outer cover is in Good condition showing   heavy wear, scuffing, creases, scratches, and a discoloration on the inside of the cover that does not interfere with the map. The inner cover has heavy corner and edge wear, and a discoloration on the front that also does not interfere with the map.  The adventure book has a discoloration through the first four pages, is grey with age, has terrible staple rust and a bit of pencil writing.  The illustration book shows heavy wear, some smudges on the front, is grey and the center color illustrations have been removed but are included.  The illustrations are very clean and nice.  This copy is somewhere near the sixth print with the Face logo on the cover and Wizard logo on the illustration booklet.

CONDITION

This copy is in Fair to Good  condition.  The outer cover is in Fair condition and is split almost the entire length of the fold.  The cover shows very heavy wear all over including creases, scuffing, corner and edge wear/damage and is so worn that it feels "soft".  There is one pen mark on one of the interior maps and the edges of the inside are discolored.  The second cover is also heavily worn and discolored, but all the maps are unmarked.  The adventure book is in Good condition, the front has a large light discoloration all over, there are creases, indentations, staple rust and the page edges are worn and have large discolorations from very light to rather dark and there is some light pencil writing on the character roster.  The Illustration book is creased at the center from being folded to properly display the illustrations, the color center illustration has been removed but is included, has a small tear at the staple on one page, and is otherwise in the same shape as the Adventure book with a bit less discoloration.  This is a Third print with black maps and slightly different art than the first two printings.
