Dungeon Module C1
The Hidden Shrine of
Tamoachan
by
Harold Johnson and
Jeff R. Leason

DESCRIPTION The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan is designed for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 1st Edition. It was the first in a series of competition modules. The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan was used for the Official Advanced Dungeon and Dragons tournament at Origins '79. This monochrome version was published in 1980. The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan also includes more than 15 illustrations. This module introduced two new monsters. The horrible Gibbering Mouther and the seductive Nereid. This is an excellent adventure designed for characters of levels 5-7. The characters begin trapped in a lost shrine and have only a short time to escape before death overtakes them in the form of a poisonous gas.
SYNOPSIS
You tread carefully across cracked and overgrown flagstones, stepping over fallen and shattered pillars, pushing aside vines and briars. As you approach the temple in the jungle the sound of something crashing through the underbrush comes from behind you. Turning, you glimpse men moving through the trees towards your party. Then the earth shudders and gapes open beneath your feet and you are falling amidst the roar of collapsing masonry. Dust fills the air and the sunlight disappears as the darkness swallows you. You are trapped beneath the earth in a long lost shrine. Can you escape before the foul poisonous air ends your adventuring career? Or will you succumb to the other perils of The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan?
CONDITION
This copy is in Good condition. The cover shows moderate wear overall. There are heavy creases along the fold, the corners are rounded and there are discolored spots pretty much all over. There are a few pencil marks on the interior maps where someone added a some secret doors. The interior is also in Good condition and is complete. There are quite a few discolorations, including 2 pages that seem to have had a brush with some sort of oil, and there are a few pencil notes. The PC's and handouts have not been removed. The illustration book has been well used and has been folded over to show the players the pictures. It is also discolored. If this module could talk I bet it would have quite the tale to tell! Overall it has been seriously enjoyed, but is quite ready to take on another party!
